Get The Casual Chic Neutral Look – Simple and Affordable

CASUAL NEUTRALS IS THE NEW CHIC

And black skinny pants makes it even more flattering

A neutral wardrobe is all the rage at the moment – probably thanks to Kim Kardashian West and her sisters (if we are being totally honest).

I can’t seem to scroll through my Instagram or Pinterest feed at the moment without seeing Kim K in yet-another “all nude look” (and I’m not referring to her birthday suit btw, or her infamous nude selfies) – but I’m not complaining (about the neutral fashion trend or her on-point outfit choices).

When I think of Kim Kardashian West’s wardrobe, two words that come to mind are “neutrals” and “chic”. Love her or hate her – she’s current and she pretty much creates new fashion trends daily.

All of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters are always seen looking on-point with their daily outfits – and this season it’s about their all-neutral outfits and their everyday casual-chic looks.

We’re not all like Kim K though, and so we can’t all pull off the skin tight nude outfit – but there are some easy ways to make the all-neutral look yours (in a chic, affordable and flattering way).

YOUR CASUAL WARDROBE + CHIC

Your everyday wardrobe just got chicer

I love wearing all-neutral outfits – wardrobe items in shades of grey and nude are versatile, and are easy to mix and match.

Having an all-neutral wardrobe (or mostly neutral) is one of the easiest ways to look chic without having a huge wardrobe, or without spending a lot of money.

Casual chic outfits are so this-season, meaning that you have the opportunity to pair your fave casual swears + T’s with your chicest neutral accessories. Everyday comfort and high-end fashion have become BFF’s – so take full advantage.

The best thing about the all-neutral look, is that you can mix and match so many pieces from your wardrobe (as long as they are in the shades of grey, nude, white, cream, army green, black or charcoal).

ALL NEUTRAL + NEXT LEVEL CHIC

Add a splash of sparkle to your OOTD for an even chicer look

The “standard” neutral wardrobe palette may only include shades of grey, nude, white, cream, army green, black or charcoal (even light pink or navy blue for the bold) – but a splash of sparkle can take any neutral look to the next level.

Try adding a splash of bronze, silver, chrome, gold or rose gold to your neutral look to give it that special twist.

You can incorporate these neutral metallic shades into your all-neutral OOTD by popping on some jewellery (the easiest way) or by investing in some special statement pieces (like a bronze handbag or a pair of silver heels).

Don’t go overboard with the sparkle (this could start to look tacky), but enjoy a little splash of it – one or two flashy accessories will do.

Remember that less is often more.

MUST HAVES + THE NUDE PUMP

A classic nude pump is the perfect chic accesory

A classic pair of nude pumps or heels is a must have for any chic look, and adding a pair to your wardrobe is a great investment (you can wear nude pumps so many ways, and with so many outfits).

I love wearing a simple grey sweater or jersey with black leggings and a pair of classic nude heeled pumps. It’s simple and feels classic.

MUST HAVES + THE NUDE STATEMENT BAG

The nude statement handbag is everything this season

This season, casual-chic is all about pairing a statement neutral handbag with one of your fave sweaters or T’s – this look is effortlessly trendy.

A simple statement handbag in a neutral shade (nude, gray, black, beige) is a versatile piece that you can use everyday and pair with multiple looks. It’s a must-have piece this season.

THE CASUAL SWEATER OR T

The casual sweater or T-shirt is your new wardrobe staple

Consider the casual sweater or T-shirt (in a neutral shade) your new wardrobe staple.

Update your wardrobe this season by finding a simple T-shirt that fits your shape really well, and then buying one in every neutral shade available – get grey, nude, white, cream, army green, charcoal or black.

Remember that finding a T-shirt that suits your body shape is key!

A simple T-shirt in a neutral shade can be worn a hundred different ways – and this is a really affordable way to get multiple new pieces to mix-and-match with your current wardrobe.

BLACK SKINNY PANTS + NEUTRALS

Black skinny pants may be “the thing” that your neutral look is missing

Black is slimming and flattering – it’s always has been and will always be.

As I said earlier, we’re not all like Kim Kardashian West, and so we can’t all pull off the skin tight nude outfit – but there are some easy ways to make the all-neutral look yours (in a chic, afforable and flattering way).

A pair of black leggings or black skinny jeans go with almost anything, and they can instantly make an all-neutral look a lot more flattering (and affordable).

You can still achieve the neutral-chic look of the season by pairing your flesh colored T-shirt, sweater or jacket with your trusty skin tight skinny pants. This will instantly be more flattering than wearing a flesh colored pair of pants or leggings. Having one pair of pants in black is also more affordable than having to get a pair in every neutral shade.
