Feeling amazing in the AM

Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt amazing?

You should feel good when you wake up in the morning, and you can feel amazing in the morning.

In this post, I’m going to show you how you can feel amazing in the morning – in 4 steps.

This is also a go-to guide to help you when you wake up feeling not-so-healthy and not-so-amazing because, let’s be honest, we all have those days.

♥ A little routine

A little bit of a routine can be a good thing.

Sometimes a few routine steps can help us to assess a situation so that we can deal with the situation in the best way that we know how. A little routine can also help us to learn about our bodies so that we know how to treat it, so that we can feel GREAT.

4 SIMPLE STEPS

STEP ONE

Drink 2 glasses of water

Drinking water may sound cliche, but trust me – simple water can do wonders. First thing in the morning: wake up, get out of bed and drink water (at least 2 glasses of filtered or spring water).

STEP TWO

Assess what your body needs right now

Assess your body’s needs by asking yourself: How am I feeling? Am I feeling healthy? Am I feeling relaxed? Am I feeling hungry? Ask yourself these 3 questions.

♥ Healthy or unhealthy? ♥ Relaxed or stressed? ♥ Hungry or not hungry?

If you are feeling unhealthy or stressed, you may feel the need to eat without actually being hungry. Make sure that you take care of your body’s health and stress needs before you start to eat.

If you are feeling unhealthy, ask your body why you are feeling unhealthy. Are you feeling unhealthy because you haven’t eaten enough or have eaten too much? What did you eat the previous day? Are you feeling unhealthy because you ate unhealthy food?

If you ate too much, you may need to give your body time to process the other food that you previously ate before you eat more. Wait an hour or two and then reassess the situation.

If you are feeling more stressed than relaxed, you should try to relax your mind and body before you eat anything. Once you are feeling more relaxed, reassess the your body’s needs situation.

If you are feeling really hungry first thing in the morning, your body may be dehydrated, you may not have eaten enough food the day before or your body may be craving a certain type of nutrient. Try to assess whether you are dehydrated or are actually needing food by quickly looking at what food and beverages you consumed the previous day. It is advisable to drink more water if you think you may be dehydrated. If you did not eat enough food or have been following an unbalanced diet, your body may be craving a specific nutrient.

If you wake up feeling starving and you ate right before you went to bed, you may not actually be hungry. Your body needs time to process food and it is possible that your body has not completely processed the food you ate before bed.

Get to know your body so that you can understand what it needs. Listen to it and pay attention to the consequences (good and bad) of all lifestyle choices.

STEP THREE

Be still and give thanks

Sit, be still, be calm and give thanks for anything good in your life. Now give thanks for everything good in your life.
Make a list in your mind of all the things that you are grateful for. (You can also do this while brushing your teeth or washing your face.) Focus your mind on the positive and exciting things in your life (even if it is something small).

If you are feeling stressed then try to relax breathing deeply and focusing on breathing deeply for 2-3 minutes. Focus on each breath. You might need to feel relaxed before you can eat anything.

STEP FOUR

Time to eat?

Are you hungry or not hungry? If you are hungry then you can eat a healthy breakfast. Yum!

What should you eat? Try to figure out what your body needs and wants by looking at what nutrients your body got the day before. By looking at the previous day and seeing what nutrients your body didn’t get, you can decide what your body probably needs now.

It is important to listen to your body. Learn to assess how you feel after eating different types of food, pay attention to both positive and negative reactions.

You can also read more about finding the perfect diet for you – if you want to know what foods are the best for you to eat.

If you are not hungry then you can drink more water or make yourself a cup of refreshing herbal tea (made simply with hot water. No milk or sugar). Reassess your hunger in an hour or two.

Try to limit caffeine (because this can dehydrate the body). If you usually drink a lot of coffee, then you might try to reduce this amount by drinking slightly smaller amounts of coffee every day or every week. Drink your coffee black if you can (without sugar, sweetener or milk), it may take some getting used to but you can train your tastebuds to like anything.

This little routine will help you to pay attention to your body’s needs, so that you can love it the way it deserves to be loved and so that you can feel amazing in the morning.
