HEALTHY CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM
I’m not sure if there is a more perfect healthy treat than something so decadent as chocolate ice cream.
In this post, I’m going to show you how to make healthy chocolate ice cream out of bananas. Yes, bananas.
MEET YOUR NEW BFF
If you haven’t ever made ice cream out of bananas, then you need to try it asap… because it’s really delicious – and it’s totally healthy!
The most important part of making banana ice cream is freezing the bananas before you work with them. When you freeze banana it becomes super thick & creamy – just like ice cream. You’ll also want to peel and slice the bananas before you freeze them.
This recipe is totally 100% dairy and sugar-free. It’s also made from good carbs, protein and healthy fats.
So why not eat it for breakfast?!
THE EASIEST RECIPE
4 medium bananas (sliced and frozen)
3-4 Tablespoons cacao powder (raw cocoa)
2-4 Tablespoons unsweetened nut butter (macadamia, cashew or almond)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground vanilla powder (optional)
1 or 2 Tablespoons water or almond milk to blend (optional, only if needed)
TOPPINGS FOR DAYS
-chopped raw nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios)
-a fresh blueberries
-a few fresh strawberry slices
-a few fresh banana slices
-a swirl of nut butter (macadamia, cashew or almond)
-Peel, slice and freeze the bananas
-Blend all of the ingredients together (in a blender) until smooth
-Add 1 or 2 Tablespoons water or almond milk (if needed, to blend)
-Pour “ice cream” into a flat container and freeze for 1-2 hours
-Scoop & serve with a swirl of nut butter, chopped nuts or fresh berries
-Eat & enjoy!
