Banana, Almond & Oat Smoothie
Here’s the recipe for a deliciously creamy, super filling, totally healthy and perfectly yummy smoothie that I love to make for breakfast when I want a smoothie… but I am really hungry.
Let’s face it – smoothie’s are amazing & I absolutely love them, but sometimes when I am starving they are not the best breakfast choice for me… because an hour or two later, I could be hungry again. It really depends what ingredients I use to make my smoothie.
Here’s a breakfast smoothie that will keep you going with sustained energy for hours because it’s a well balanced meal (it contains healthy plant-based protein, healthy essential fats and good carbs) and it’s got some healthy oats blended into the mix to fill your tummy and keep you feeling happy… and full!
It’s the banana, almond and oat smoothie! Yum!
This recipe is sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free and raw vegan.
Here’s what I use…
Ingredients:
-1 frozen banana
-1/4 cup dry rolled oats (not instant oats)
-1/2 cup unsweetend almond milk
-1 tablespoon unsweetend almond butter
-1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
-1 teaspoon ground vanilla powder/ pure vanilla extract
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-ice to taste
Here’s how I like to make mine…
Instructions:
-peel, slice and freeze the banana
-add the frozen banana slices, dry rolled oats, almond milk, almond butter, coconut oil, vanilla & cinnamon to a blender and blend until smoothie
-add ice to taste and blend again
-serve chilled, drink and enjoy!
