What makes this Classic Banana Smoothie so perfectly delicious and healthy?
It’s a well-balanced smoothie made with healthy ingredients that add both nutrients and deliciousness. This recipe contains good plant-based protein (nut butter) and healthy essential fats (coconut oil, nut butter) that help the body to process natural sugars found in carbohydrates (banana’s). All 3 food groups are important but it’s good to have a healthy balance of all of them!
I’ve always loved banana smoothies, ever since I was a little girl – and I especially love them when they’re super chilled with a hint of vanilla… just like this one.
This recipe is dairy-free, refined sugar-free and soy-free BUT it’s still super creamy and totally yummy!
-3 banana’s (frozen)
-1/4 cup water (can also use almond milk)
-1 or 2 teaspoons unsweetened nut butter (cashew, macadamia or almond)
-1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
-1 teaspoon ground vanilla powder/ pure vanilla extract
-ice to taste
-peel, slice and freeze banana’s
-blend frozen banana’s with the water, vanilla, nut butter, coconut oil and cinnamon until smooth & creamy
-add ice to taste and blend again
-drink & enjoy every sip!
