Green & Blueberry Smoothie
I make this green & blueberry smoothie pretty much every morning of my life – and have been doing so for a long time. I’m not kidding. I am obsessed with it!
For me, it’s the perfect breakfast smoothie – it’s like a green smoothie, only better.
I have a major obsession with blueberries, in fact if I could only eat only 1 food for the rest of my life I would choose blueberries. Blueberries are simply amazing – not only do they taste like heaven, they are also packed full of nutrients.
Blueberries are high in fibre, low in calories and are packed with vitamins C, K, E and B. These little berries also have a low glycemic index which supports steady energy AND they are full of antioxidants. Blueberries are really good for promoting healthy glowing skin & they are great for maintaining a healthy heart as well as a healthy brain.
I created this smoothie to combine my love for green smoothies and my love for blueberries. I use my classic green smoothie recipe as the base and then add blueberries! It’s a super simple, gorgeous breakfast smoothie.
I love this smoothie so much because it makes me feel absolutely incredible – like I can take on anything that gets thrown my way! I always have sustained energy for hours after sipping on one of these for breakfast.
This recipe is 100% healthy, sugar-free, dairy-free, soy-free and plant-based.
It’s also really easy to add good plant-based protein and extra healthy fats to this smoothie… see my suggestions below.

-1 cup blueberries (frozen)
-1/2 to 1 banana
-1/4 to 1/2 avocado
-1 cup chopped cucumber (peeled)
-1 big handful baby spinach
-1/2 to 1 cup water (or pure coconut water)
-ice to taste
To add good protein: 2 teaspoons chia seeds (ground)
To add extra healthy fats: 1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
-remove the peel from the banana, cucumber and avocado
-blend the blueberries, banana, cucumber, avocado, baby spinach & water together until smooth
-optional: add chia seeds (already ground) and coconut oil
-add ice to taste & blend again
-serve chilled, drink & enjoy every sip!
