HEALTHY BERRY PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

My fave everyday protein smoothie with berries and greens

This is my current everyday smoothie – it’s healthy and full of nutrients. I created it to be tasty, nourishing, filling and full of protein.

This has been my go-to healthy breakfast this past year while I was trying to get healthy again (after spending the past 10 months on bed rest sick with mono and adrenal fatigue), and I really feel and believe that it’s helped me so much!

This recipe is dairy -free, gluten-free and refined sugar-free.

I hope you love it as much as I do!

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

-1 cup frozen blueberries
-1/2 cup frozen raspberries
-1/2 small avocado
-handful baby spinach
-1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein)
-1/2 scoop collagen powder (I use Ancient Nutrition Vanilla Bone Broth Protein)
-1 teaspoon greens powder or spiralina
-cinnamon
-1 + 1/2 cups water
-ice to taste
(serves 1 to 2)

METHOD

DIRECTIONS:

-I start by adding 1 cup of frozen blueberries and about 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries to my blender

-Then add half of an avocado to my smoothie (I’ll use the other half in my lunch or dinner or will use it the next morning in my smoothie, I just keep it in an airtight container in the fridge)

-I add some cinnamon and then I add some greens powder (I use 1 small scoop, but you can use 1 teaspoon of any greens or spirulina powder you like)

-I add 1/2 scoop of protein powder (I use a vanilla plant-based one that’s sweetened with stevia) and some baby spinach (just a small handful or two) with about 1 cup to 1 + 1/2 cups of water to blend it

-I always add some ice cubes to make it nice and cold, and then finally I add some collagen protein powder (I use a vanilla flavoured one that’s also sweetened slightly with stevia)

-I find collagen protein powder very filling so I only add 1/2 a scoop of that (I always add the collagen last, and then blend it straight away or else it tends to go a bit lumpy)

-That’s it, serve chilled and enjoy right away!
