Must try Coffee-Date Smoothie! (dairy-free, gluten-free)
HAVE A COFFEE DATE SMOOTHIE WITH ME
This is a very necessary coffee recipe, my favorite coffee smoothie recipe – what I like to call my “coffee date” smoothie. It’s perfect as a breakfast, a snack or a fancy mid-morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up.. It’s a classic Liezl Jayne recipe! 🖤
This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free and refined sugar-free. It’s also plant based, but you can easily customise the ingredients (see below)

THE RECIPE
-1 cup unsweetened dairy-free coconut yogurt (or plain regular yogurt)
-2 fresh Medjool dates
-1 teaspoon instant coffee powder (I use freeze-dried coffee)
-a sprinkle of cinnamon
-1 tablespoon almond butter (optional)
-1/8 to 1/4 cup water (or less to blend)
-ice to taste
HOW TO MAKE IT
-Pit the dates and add them to to a blender with the yogurt, almond butter, coffee powder, cinnamon and water
-Blend until smooth
-Add ice to taste and blend again
-Drink chilled and enjoy!
NOTES + CALORIES
-Recipe serves 1, with roughly 340 cal
-You can also use 1 banana instead of the 2 dates
-You can use dried dates, but will take longer to blend and you can adjust quantity as needed (start with less)
-You can also use peanut butter instead of the almond butter
-You can use any plain unsweetened yogurt you like (coconut, soy, regular, etc)
-You can use decaf instant coffee if you just want the flavor without the caffeine kick
