HOW I LOST 40 LBS
My weight loss story + Before After photos
This week I shared my weight-loss story over on my YouTube channel – all about how I lost 40 pounds! I’m also showing you you some before after pictures in the video.
I’ve also shared a little background on how I gained the weight, and also a bit about all of the diets and methods that did not work for me in the past (or diets and weight-loss trends that actually caused me to gain more weight.
Make sure that you check out the video below, I hope that it’s helpful to you in some way!

Hi Liezl Jayne,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story, it has been so useful for me. I can really relate in some way to what you have shared.
Since I was a baby I have always been quite a bit heavier than the other kids I grew up with – in school, at the playground, at the track, pretty much everywhere. My mum has only had weight gain after I was born, and she was in her 30s and my dad was an olympian so he was very fit and muscular.
I have always been an active kid, doing sports, going camping, going on huge walks and stuff like that. However I always felt I was overweight. Now looking back at pictures, I look perfectly fine and healthy – never thin or slender, but definitely healthy and definitely not “fat”. I was always muscular, always toned, always with a nice shape but with some extra kilos compared to the “other standard kid”. I guess this is just my body type and I have learnt to accept it and love it.
Since I stopped doing track and field in my 20s I have gained considerable amount of weight that at times I have managed to shift but that always piles back up. I can really relate with your past “fear of calories” because I can honestly say I that it’s the thing that makes the most sense but it’s the thing I always avoid.
I really like your approach and I like your style of cooking, it’s very close to how I like to eat or ideally would like to eat, you use lots of ingredients that are in my fridge and pantry anyways so I will start to follow your meal plans using your recipes. And not tomorrow, but I guess … now 🙂
Thanks again for sharing, I’m not sure how to keep you updated on my progress because I am very new to your website and I’m not sure if you have a forum or a community with which you communicate, however I’ll try to find out.
