Chocolate Cake with Caramel Frosting (grain-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, Paleo)

Yes, this delicious chocolate cake recipe is guilt-free. It is grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, healthy and totally yummy. AND… it’s so easy to make!
(Total time: 40-60 minutes)
Ingredients (cake):
-1/4 cup coconut flour
-1/2 cup almond flour
-1/2 cup desiccated coconut
-1/2 cup cold-pressed coconut oil
-1/2 cup cacao powder (raw, unprocessed cocoa powder)
-3 eggs (separated)
-2 medium or 3 small banana’s
-4 teaspoons agave syrup
-1 teaspoon raw vanilla powder
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-pinch sea salt
Ingredients (frosting):
-2/3 cup roasted macadamia nut butter (can use roasted almond butter)
-6 teaspoons 100% pure maple syrup
-2 teaspoons cinnamon
-1 teaspoon raw vanilla powder
-pinch sea salt (only if nut butter contains no sea salt)
Instructions (cake):
-preheat oven to 180 degree’s Celsius (360 F)
-mash or blend the banana’s until there are no lumps
-separate the eggs and put the egg whites aside in a bowl
-mix the egg yolks in a separate bowl with the banana, the coconut oil and the agave
-add the cacao powder to the mix and blend well
-add the coconut flour, almond flour, desiccated coconut, vanilla, cinnamon and sea salt
-mix thoroughly
-beat the egg whites with an electric beater until they are firm & stiff
-gently fold the egg whites into the cake batter until blended (but do not mix)
-grease a cake pan with extra coconut oil
-slowly pour the batter into a cake pan
-place into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes
-remove from oven when cooked and leave to cool
-get ready to prepare the frosting
Instructions (frosting):
-mix the macadamia nut butter and pure maple syrup together in a bowl
-add the cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt to the mix and blend thoroughly
-once the cake has cooled, ice it with all of the frosting by using the back of a spoon or a blunt butter knife
Suggested toppings:
-sprinkle desiccated coconut or coconut flakes on top of the cake
-decorate the cake with edible flowers
