There’s nothing like having a classic strawberry & banana smoothie for a delicious, healthy breakfast treat!
I love making a good strawberry and banana smoothie, it’s such a great classic combination. The simple flavours go so well together and it’s just amazing every time… sweet, creamy and always yummy!
This recipe is refined sugar-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan & Paleo. It also contains healthy fats and good plant-based protein.
Here’s what I like to put into my strawberry & banana smoothie…
-1/2 cup sliced strawberries (about 4 medium)
-1 frozen banana (peeled & sliced)
-1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
-1 teaspoon ground vanilla powder/ pure vanilla extract
-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-2 teaspoons unsweetened nut butter (almond, cashew or macadamia)
-2 teaspoons cold-pressed coconut oil
-ice to taste
Here’s how I like to make it…
-peel, slice and freeze the banana
-slice enough strawberries to fill 1/2 a cup (about 4 medium)
-blend the almond milk, strawberry slices and frozen banana slices together until smooth
-add the nut butter, coconut oil, cinnamon & vanilla and blend again
-add ice to taste and blend (optional)
-serve chilled, drink and enjoy!
