I love caramel! It is one of my favorite flavors to recreate using natural ingredients – and it’s so easy to do! And quite honestly… sometimes nothing sounds better than a creamy, chilled caramel smoothie for a cheeky breakfast!
Medjool dates have a very similar taste to caramel, and combined with a few other ingredients you’ve got a sweet & creamy caramel treat!
This smoothie is a super delicious, healthy treat that is filled with lots of nutrients & fibre and is balanced with plant-based protein and healthy essential fats. It’s also refined sugar-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan & Paleo.
-2 frozen bananas
-2 medjool dates
-2 teaspoons almond butter
-1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
-1 teaspoon ground vanilla powder/ pure vanilla extract
-a pinch of cinnamon
-1/4 cup water
-ice to taste
-peel, slice & freeze bananas
-blend the frozen banana slices, medjool dates, coconut oil, nut butter, vanilla, cinnamon & water together until smooth
-add ice to taste and blend again
-serve in a glass
-drink chilled & enjoy!
