Exercise Less and Lose More Weight

LESS EXERCISE + GET MORE SKINNY?

In this post, I’m going to show you how exercising less can actually help you to burn body fat, lose more weight and get skinner.


Not to sound like a cheesy informercial from the 90’s – But, if you’re struggling to lose weight, are still spending hours exercising every week and are seeing few results, then I’m going to ask you a simple Q: Have you ever tried exercising less?

Have you ever heard of HIIT (high intensity interval training)?


Recent studies have shown that people who do 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week are more likely to lose weight than those who spend 60 minutes doing the same type of exercise a few times a week.

Studies have shown that high-intensity exercise done over a short period of time can result in exceptional physical and health benefits, more  than low-intensity exercise done over long periods time.

Doing a 16 minute HIIT workout 2-3 times a week really helped me to lose weight and get into better shape (I’ve now lost a total of 40 Lbs!)

HELLO HIIT, HELLO SKINNY

Here is an example of a high-intensity cardio workout that will take roughly 16 minutes to complete:

1. Use the cardio equipment at the gym (the elliptical and the treadmill are perfect) or simply go outside with a stopwatch.

2. Warm up. This does not have to be long, just until you feel warm.

3. Sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds and then recover until your breathing is back to normal (usually 90). In your recovery time you will walk if you ran during the sprint.

4. Repeat this combination 8 to 12 times.

Example: Sprint 30 seconds + recover 90 seconds x 8 times. Work out over.


For the best results, this work out should be performed 3 times a week and complimented with a good strength training program and a healthy and well balanced diet.

Please note that you should be in a fit and healthy state before you perform this workout.
