This green superfood smoothie is a green smoothie filled with healthy greens and lots of superfood ingredients!
I love green smoothies – it’s an easy way to get lots of greens & healthy nutrients into your diet at breakfast time (or any time of day). Let’s face it, no one really wants to eat a bunch of leaves for breakfast – but sipping on them in a yummy smoothie is so easy! And, if you make a green smoothie the right way you will hardly even taste the greens
What is a superfood? A superfood is a food that is considered to be beneficial for ones health because it is very rich in nutrients.
Superfood ingredients in this smoothie:
Ps. If you are a green smoothie beginner, you might want to start out your green smoothie experience with my classic green smoothie – it’s really simple & subtle. This green superfood smoothie is super delicious but it might be best for people with adventurous tastebuds! It’s sweet & a little spicy!
-2 teaspoons Maca powder
-2 teaspoons cinnamon
-2 teaspoons chia seeds (ground)
-1 teaspoon flax seeds (ground)
-1 teaspoon cold-pressed coconut oil
-3 to 4 teaspoons raw honey (or to taste)
-1 cup chopped cucumber (peeled)
-1 cup shredded romaine/ cos lettuce
-1 big handful baby spinach
-1/2 cup water (or pure coconut water)
-ice to taste
-peel the cucumber and the avocado
-grind the chia seeds & flax seeds (grind them in the blender first without liquid)
-blend the cucumber, avocado, baby spinach, romaine lettuce & water until smooth
-add the Maca powder, cinnamon, coconut oil, ground chia seeds & ground flax seeds and blend again
-add raw honey to taste
-add ice to taste & blend again
-serve chilled, drink and enjoy!
