Chocolate mousse filled with lots of healthy superfood ingredients and lots of nutrients! Yum!
This is one of my absolute favorite things to make at the moment… for many reason’s.
The reasons? It’s really healthy and is packed with lots of nutrients, it’s so easy to make (less than 5 min), it’s chocolate (and I love chocolate), it’s made with superfood ingredients, its absolutely delicious (because it’s dessert) BUT it’s so healthy that I can eat it for breakfast.
What is a superfood? A superfood is a food that is considered to be beneficial for ones health because it is very rich in nutrients.
When do I like to eat this Superfood Chocolate Mousse?
For breakfast or with breakfast (who doesn’t love chocolate for breakfast?), as a snack, for lunch, after dinner or with dinner, for dessert or as a treat.
It’s perfect to enjoy any time of day!
This recipe is dairy-free, sugar-free, plant-based, vegan, raw and Paleo friendly. Enjoy!
-2 to 4 teaspoons cacao powder (to taste)
-1 teaspoon maca powder
-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
-1/2 teaspoon ground vanilla powder/ extract
-1 or 2 teaspoons raw honey (or 100% pure maple syrup)
-tiny pinch sea salt
-remove peel and pit from avocado
-peel and smash the banana
-in a high powered blender/ food processor or with an electric beater, blend the avocado and banana together until smooth (with no lumps)
-add cacao powder, maca powder, cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt & honey
-blend until smooth
-serve in a bowl & sprinkle with a pinch of cacao powder (optional)
-eat & enjoy!
-serve with fresh strawberries, raspberries or blueberries (my absolute favorite!)
-top with almond flakes, chopped pecan nuts or chopped walnuts
-sprinkle with desiccated coconut or coconut flakes
-serve with sliced banana’s
-enjoy with oatmeal (for breakfast)
-drizzle with some a teaspoon of nut butter (I like it with almond butter!)
