How to Make Healthy Sweet Potato Fries
The new French Fry on the block
I just adore sweet potato fries – don’t you? Fries are one of life’s simple pleasures… and baked sweet potato fries are an amazing healthy alternative to regular fast-food fries.
But there’s an art to making perfect sweet potato fries!
I probably make sweet potato fries once a week, usually on the weekend – it just seems like something you should do on the weekend… like making healthy pancakes for breakfast on a Sunday morning.
This recipe is super duper easy to make, and it’s good with pretty much any meal. I usually have sweet potato fries with a side of veggies (roasted or steamed) and a piece of grilled fish (salmon, trout or hake) – or maybe a grilled piece of chicken or steak instead of the fish.
Hope you love this recipe as much as I do! xo
How to make sweet potato fries
Ingredients:
-4 medium sweet potatoes
-1 Tablespoon cooking oil (or as needed)
-sea salt & cracked black pepper (to taste)
(serves 4)
The Method:
-Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C/ 360 degrees F.
-Slice the sweet potatoes into long thin strips.
-Grease an oven tray with 1/2 teaspoon oil and toss the fries in the other 1/2 teaspoon oil (or as needed)
-It’s a good idea to make sure that the sweet potato fries don’t touch each other too much, or cover each other (this makes them so crispy and delicious and perfect).
-Season with sea salt & cracked black pepper.
-Bake in the oven for 20-40 minutes (or as needed), checking every 10 minutes and turning if necessary. If you like your fries a little crispy, then heat the oven up to 200 degrees C (390 F) for the last 10 minutes of baking.
-Serve with your favourite meal, or as a snack and enjoy!
